Canada, october 2012: the members of Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation try to contrast with the exploitation of bituminous sands in their territories. Republic of Congo, 2013: the inhabitants of Kouilou region are suffering because of a project aimed at exploiting bituminous sands on Congo river. This project is realized by the Italian multinational corporation Eni, which has started a program focused on research and extraction of bituminous sands for producing oil. "Terra Nera" is a travel between Canada and Congo among the guardians of the last forests, American Indians and Congolese people, two populations far from each other but tightly linked by the fight for survival.
Simone Ciani, born in 1970, realizes videos, laboratories and theatrical performances. He realizes, among the other, the movie "Intervallo", winner of several national festivals. He works in collaboraton with the photographer Nanni Angeli. During the last years, in collaboration with Danilo Licciardello, he realizes "Figli della Fiat" (2011), "Semi Resistenti" (2012), "Terra bruciata. Voci dalla nuova frontiera della colonizzazione" (2012).
Danilo Licciardello, born in 1970, in 1998 is the co-founder of Vidart Produzioni Indipendenti and realizes social documentaries and laboratories in schools. He works with several NGOs, realizing spots and videos focused on social issues. Author of investigative reports and documentaries, he collaborates to the organization of Festival delle Terre.
