Terra di Tutti Film Festival

Southern world countries documentaries and social cinema exhibition

Participation Requirements

The contest is an international event without any restriction on nationality, age and profession.
The participation is free of charge.

Competition Object

The competition is open to videos of a maximum duration of 60 minutes. The works have to belong to one of the following categories:

  • Documentaries
  • Animation
  • Social fiction – Docufiction

Works made with any kind of technique (animation included) and format (that respect the following regulation) are admitted.

Terra di Tutti Film Festival 7th edition priority issues are:

  • Fight against poverty
  • Natural resources valorisation and preservation
  • Water as a common wealth
  • Food sovereignty; sustainable, organic and fair-trade agriculture.
  • Sustainable energy; renewable energy; energy access
  • Migration and sustainable development; human trafficking;
  • Access to health, prevention and fight against AIDS.

The videos must deal with social issues linked to globalization and development, and at least one of the following topics: gender and development; active citizenship and development; human rights and democracy; work and globalization; environment; youth and children rights; war, terrorism and violence; media and information on/in Southern world countries.

Participation rules

Every single filmmaker can participate with max three works.
Only works produced after January 1st 2011 are admitted;
The submission has to be done by filling up the on line entry form that can be found in the Festival official website www.terradituttifilmfestival.org. The registration will be confirmed to the candidate also by e-mail.
It is necessary to fill up an entry form for each submitted work.
Call for entry deadline is June 15th, 2013.

Delivery and selection process

Once online registration is finalised, the author should send before 30 June 2013 (failure to comply will result in the rejection of your application) the following material:

the Release Form, that has to be downloaded from the official website of the Festival www.terradituttifilmfestival.org, duly filled in all its parts and signed in full;

TWO COPIES of each submitted work, in DVD format, in one of the following ways:

a) In a sealed envelope with the name of TERRA DI TUTTI FILM FESTIVAL at the
following address:

b) Or, if it is your preference, you can also upload the master DVD zipped by using
Dropbox, Wetransfer or another cloud storage and send it at the following e-mail:

The material submitted won't be returned and will be stored in the public archive of the Terra di Tutti Film Festival.

The works submitted to the competition remain property of the author who grants free and unlimited permission to the Terra di Tutti Film Festival for the following uses:

  • Partial publication on the festival web site;
  • Presentation and projection at the Terra di Tutti Film Festival, Bologna, 8th – 13th October 2013.

The submission of works implies giving non-exclusive authorization to the organizers of the Festival to spread and make available to the public – through the website and/or other means – clips or sequences of the works without compensation for the authors.

The submission of pictures and / or information about the work (stills, photos of the author, bio-filmography, synopsis, author’s statements, posters, etc.) implies non-exclusive permission for the organizers of the festival to spread and make available to the public all images and information concerning the works presented.

The Festival takes no responsibility for any theft or damage of the works.

Only the author bears responsibility for the content of his/her work and authorizes the Terra di Tutti Film Festival to make copies and organise projections of the submitted film for free-of-charge cultural purpose.

TTFF Prizes

The Festival offers a contribution of 1.000 (one-thousand) Euro for the production of audiovisual and/or purchase of materials. This contribution will be shared between the two best works:
1) Prize to the Best Italian production chosen by the quality jury of the Festival;
2) Prize to the Best International production chosen by the Council of Foreigners and Stateless of Bologna and named in memory of Cheick Sarr.

Benedetto Senni Special Prize

A special Prize named in memory of Benedetto Senni of the value of 500 (five hundred) Euros will be given. The Prize will be awarded to a film considered worthy by the Management Committee of the Award, at its sole discretion.The prize will be ideally awarded to a film that addresses issues relating to the major themes of sustainable development and technology transfer. Subjects related to the African continent will be considered of preferential choice.

LEPIDATV Special Prize

LepidaTV (the communication project foreseen by the telematic Plan of the Emilia-Romagna Region, and aimed at research, organization, coordination and implementation of the materials which are provided on the digital terrestrial platform 24 hours a day), establishes a prize of 1000 (Thousand) Euros under the form of a voucher for technical audiovisual material for documentaries and docufiction that deal with issues relevant to the of Emilia-Romagna Region or relate to international cooperation entities from Emilia-Romagna or to projects from Global South in which Emilia-Romagna Region and its civil society organisations and bodies are involved.
The LepidaTV Prize's winning and mentioned works will be broadcasted at the end of the festival on multichannel and multimedia systems of LepidaTV within the Cinematic Program.

Fairtrade Special Prize

Fairtrade Italy is a consortium that represents Italy in the FAIRTRADE Certification Mark.
It is part of Fairtrade International, which is the international coordination of organizations that promote the Fairtrade Mark in their countries.
Fairtrade Italy establishes a prize of 500 (five hundred) Euros and Fair Trade certified products for the work that expresses in the best way the values of fairness in trade relations between the North and South of the world, with particular attention to the rights of workers in the South and choices of consumers in the North.

Prize-giving

The prize-giving will take place during the Festival last night.
The judgments on the works awards are unquestionable.

The organization has the right to publish in the festival's official web site all the works entered and admitted to the festival. The publication will occurr necessarily after the submission deadline.

Responsibility

THE SUBMISSION OF WORKS AND THE PARTICIPATION TO THE COMPETITION IMPLIES THE TOTAL ACCEPTANCE OF THIS  REGULATION.

The participation to the Festival implies having read and accepted the terms on privacy and personal data treatment provided in the entry form. Pursuant to the Italian legislation (D.Lgs 196/2003) the privacy policy holders of the personal data received are the organizers of the Festival.

The authors must ensure that the contents of the entered films (picture, sounds, animation)  respect the copyright legislation. The Terra di Tutti Film Festival cannot be hold responsible of any legal breach in this regard.

Participation to the competition implies the author’s own exclusive responsibility for any irregularities in this regard; the organizers have the right to exclude from the competition and to revoke any awards given to works that present irregularities.

To the discretion of the organizers of the competition, works deemed offensive or harmful for the image of promoters and / or the code of ethics for NGOs will be excluded from competition and will not be published.

The Festival Direction will decide on any unclear case and on all matters not explicitly mentioned in this regulation. The decision cannot be appealed against. As a last resource, disputes may be referred to the competent Court of Bologna.
