In general, Zimmy likes playing his bass with the band Lou del Bello's and staying in his home town Bologna. However, his friends organize a travel to a refugee camp in Palestine, aimed at teaching music to children living in the camp. That is why our protagonist leave Bologna with his friend Berna.
While Berna is wandering in the markets discovering Palestinian traditions, Zimmy does not understand whay his new friends, family Azzah, are not allowed to come back in their own village, Bejit Jibrin: they were expelled in 1948 and never allowed to come back. That is why he decides to go over there, leaving his friends.
Francesco Merini, born in Bologna in 1971, has a degree in History of arts. Together with the group Aspide he produced and directed the feature films "Paglione" (1999) and "Cavedagne" (2003). He directed several documentaries, among them "L’altra voce della musica. In viaggio con Claudio Abbado tra Caracas e l’Avana" (2006, together with Helmut Failoni). With his short film "Un giorno ideale per i pescibanana" (1996) he won the Iceberg award. His short movie "Panocchie" (1998) has been selected by Nanni Moretti at Sacher Festival.
