LIMINA

AGNESE MATTANO AND YOUNG PEOPLE AT THE JUVENILE DETENTION CENTER "SICILIANI" IN BOLOGNA

ITALY | 2016 | 8’

Limina is a docu-clip originating from a reflection on the concept of space and carrying on the work started with SOSpeso, a video focused on the concept of time. Presenting different meanings of the term "space", the young people at the Juvenile Detention Centre “Siciliani” in Bologna have chosen to develop the topic of space in several ways: space define home and family, it is the border between people, it is the limit that shouldn’t be crossed. But space is also the universe, the routine, the place of the mind. With the title Limina (limen means “entrance”, “border”, “house”, “finish line”) the documentary tries to enclose different perspectives in one single view.

Agnese Mattanò, after studying theater in Naples, moves to Paris to attend the Ecole de mime corporel dramatique directed by S. Wasson and C. Soum. Then she takes part of the acting company Théatre de l'ange fou, taking part in several international festivals and holding seminars on miming in Paris, Naples and Korea. Once moved to Bologna, she studies as an educater and she contributes to the foundation of the cooperative Teatro del Pratello. She now implements video laboratories for schools, ministerial communities and juvenile detention centers.

Screening and presentation with the participation of the director Agnese Mattanò and a youngster from the Juvenil Detention Center.
