130 KM TO HEAVEN
Khaled Khella | Egypt | 2015 | 13'
An aspirational young man steps foot outside of his hometown for the first time following his best friend on the road to turn their life around.
Born in Cairo, Khaled Khella couldn't get the opportunity to study filmmaking in a film academy due to financial and bureaucratic circumstances; he decided to learn by reading and watching to be able to tell his stories by using cinema tools and to be one of the promising indie-filmmakers in Egypt. He aims at embodying the suffering of poor and marginalized people effectively through his footage.
