SANS TERRE, C'EST LA FAIM
Amy Miller | Cambodia, Mali, Uganda | 2013 | 75' | out of competition
Through the examples of Cambodia, Mali and Uganda the film explores the other side of globalised land investment and its impact on family-run agriculture. Farmers’ land is seized and their personal histories are merged with images of communities fighting to withhold their land. "Sans terre c'est la faim" is a pedagogical and committed film that reports the land grabbing and defends a family-run, sustainable agriculture, promoting an agricultural model that guarantees food security, rural occupation, a fair income to producers and an appropriate management of territory and resources.
Event realised in collaboration with Alimenterre Festival
Alimenterre Festival was born in a cinema in Paris, at the end of 2007 and grew remarkably thanks to a strong networking activity. In 2013 several events and 935 screenings were organised, both in France and abroad. The Film Festival commits to raising awareness within public at large about issues related to healthy and sufficient food for everyone, fostering the participation of all stakeholders in the food security and farmers’ work debates, while promoting actions aiming at achieving a fairer and environmentally sustainable agriculture.
