PADRE
Santiago "Bou" Grasso | Argentina, France | 2013 | 11'
Argentina, 1983. The story of a woman who has dedicated her whole life to caring for her father’s health, an ex-senior official of the army. Her daily routine follows the beeps of a watch, which carefully controls every move she makes, reducing her existence to a mere enslavement to time. The watch tells her when to make the tea, prepare medicine, run a bath and make dinner for her ill father. From one day to the next, the woman finds refuge in her own little world, refusing to face reality and instead leading a life in the realm of the surreal. Currently on an international tour, the short film has already won 7 prizes, including one from the Argentinian festival “Imagenes socials de la Rioja” for best animated short.
