“Oltre il confine” is a short documentary produced by young people at the Bologna Young Offenders’ Centre (Pratello), together with Agnese Mattanò and DJ Farrapo. The youths at Pratello talk about themselves, using the metaphor of a never-ending race. It is a race that is trying to break apart a culture of prejudice - theirs and that of others - which rules over them with endless vehemence. The race is the space between the fear of not running it and the urgency of a bold change.

Agnese Mattanò, who graduated in 1967, attended the “Ecole de mime corporel dramatique” in Paris, where she was a part of the theatre company “Théatre de l’ange fou”, attending many different international festivals. She has held seminars about mime in Paris, Naples and Korea. In 1999, she moved to Bologna, where she worked as a teacher for the Atlantide cooperative and continued to develop her passion for editing. She was a founding member of the Theatre of Pratello, where she worked until 2011. She holds video workshops for schools, ministerial communities and juvenile prisons. Her works include “L’arte dell’evasione teatrale”, “Prove costituenti 1”, “Prove costituenti 2” and “Fiori di stigma”, with the young people of the Bologna Young Offenders’ Centre.
