ECUADOR, CON LOS OJOS CERRADOS
Daniel Chamorro | Spagna | 2014 | 19'
The documentary describes the raining and awareness projects of Manos Unidas in Ecuador through pictures, colours and flavours. Chamorro's poetic notes and Bustarviejo Gemma's deep voice accompany the narrative. As Chamorro whispers: "Sometimes we close our eyes to the world to avoid suffering. Instead, we must create empathy in order to build a better world”. Lucia Rosa Mencos and Camila, young authors of "Cry for Change" (awarded best short film in the festival promoted by Manos Unidas) collaborated to the documentary. With his sensitivity, Chamorro manages to capture beliefs, dreams, values and feelings of Ecuadorian people.
Daniel Chamorro was considered one of the most promising Spanish directors by the magazine "Variety" (Festival de Cannes). As a director he has won 110 national and international awards.
