CHI VUOI CHE SIA
Davide Vigore e Riccardo Cannella | Italy | 2013 | 30'
“Chi vuoi che sia” is a documentary filmed in Palermo, in one of the neighbourhoods that characterise the culture and anthropology of this city: “Ballarò”. It tells the story of a human being that cannot be simply defined, but only as an abstract being. A love story forms the background to this tale, love that has created suffering, led to important decisions, brought about marginalisation, but that has equally led to the protagonists - a couple - becoming a model for many others. The film reveals a concept of life as a series of choices, but also shows us that not choosing can be just as critical to the way our lives pan out. It is therefore very difficult to examine the nature of the human whilst trying to take into account the multifaceted nature of our being. The film really tells the story of one person… whoever you want them to be.
Davide Vigore was born in Enna in 1989. He is a director, scriptwriter, and producer of cinema. In 2008 he worked with fellow director Giampaolo Cugno on the production of the film “Le Bella Società”. In 2010, he produced the short feature film “Amira”, which looked at themes of social integration and racial and cultural tolerance.
Riccardo Cannella was born in 1991 in Palermo. He studied at the Cinematography Experimental Centre. He is filmmaker and editor of documentaries and short movies.
