The word "puna", in Quechua, identifies all those areas located at more than 3500 meters hight.  In these lands the alpaqueros breed their own animals and preserve ancient traditions: the processing of fine wool and their social organization. Their stories have the flavor of an archaic mythology, as well as a strong resistance to the progress.

Miko Meloni graduated in cinema at DAMS of Bologna. He works mostly in social documentaries in Spain. His documentaries are produced by himself as a indipendent productions, among them "Otra vez" (2008) and "El ring y sus titanes" (2010), which has been hosted in numerous Italian and international festivals. In 2011, he realizes "Indignados. Como nace una protesta", selected at LIDF London International Documentary Festival 2012. "Alpaqueros de Apurimac", realized with GVC, has been selected at DocInTour.
