Meeting with Pietro Belfiore and Martina Rosa

On December 21, 2014, Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega and Chinese entrepreneur Wang Jing signed an agreement to build a huge inter-ocean canal connecting the Pacific and the Atlantic Ocean, and representing an alternative to that of Panama. Through some interviews with environmentalists and local politicians, including the former vice president of Nicaragua, Sergio Ramirez, and the poet and theologian Ernesto Cardenal, the documentary addresses the environmental, social and economic perplexities behind the development of the project.

But it is also a backward journey, along the path of the future Canal, in those wild and unexplored territories that will inevitably suffer the consequences of such a huge work.
