Bianca crosses the door of the elementary school, convened by the headmaster  who informs her that her daughter Virginia, 7 years old, has committed a theft. The little girl took away a statue of the Madonna of the peasants during an educational trip in a local museum. Virginia, however, does not have that statuette anymore, she gave it to someone who really, really needs it ... L’abbraccio  is a film that tells an afternoon spent searching for a miraculous object, linked to the urgency of to restore the bourgeois respectability of a woman and to the most powerful, most necessary, almost subversive need in the act of theft, of a child who has something to teach us.

Paola Manno: nephew of Italian miners in Belgium, graduated in Literature and Philosophy, master's in "Writing for cinema" at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, worked for 2 years at MEDIA, the European Commission's executive agency for funding for film production. Author, documentary director, winner of a Silver Ribbon in 2012 with "La guerra dei mariti".
