"Where is Europe?" It is a 15-minute docu-film that explores the role of NGOs in the Mediterranean Sea through the eyes of crew members. The project was shot aboard the "Aquarius" rescue vessel, coordinated by the Italian-French-German "SOS MEDITERRANEE" NGO, while the ship is temporarily docked in the Italian port of Catania to refuel and change crew. The film focuses on three fundamental aspects: (1) The impact of "waiting" by following those daily activities that surround the preparation of each mission and which are generally underrepresented and not documented by the mass media. 2) The need to redesign the European political narrative of boat migration by shifting the attention from the migrant's body to the voices of NGO crew members. 3) The meaning of European identity in these times of unstable international politics.
