NIMBLE FINGERS
Parsifal Reparato | 2017 | Italy | 52'
Nimble fingers are the fingers of Vietnamese workers who work in the factories of the most important global electronics brands. Bay, one of thousands of young migrant workers, comes from a remote Muong village on the highlands of North Vietnam and has come to the outskirts of Hanoi, in a neighborhood that has become one of the world's largest production centers. The life of the workers is carried out according to the rules of the large Industrial Park of Thang Long, a sea of young women punctuates their lives to the rhythm of the production of big industry. Untiring, impeccable and obedient workers tell the work in the factory with their animated drawings. Gradually the film reveals the reality on which the great production chain is built, the conditions in which the young workers live, the tight control in the workplace and the difficulties connected to it emerge. Behind the perfection of these young workers, Bay reveals the dreams and fears of a girl of her age.
