LOZA
JEAN-SÉBASTIEN DESBORDES, MATTHIEU MARTIN ET NICOLAS BERTHELOT
FRANCE | 2016 | 32’
Loza is five years old and was born in Sudan. In May 2016 he left his country with his brother and mother, Nada, to escape the dictatorship. The traffickers had promised a safe journey to Europe for $ 2,500, but the crossing across the Mediterranean turned into a nightmare. Nada could not get on the boat because of the waves and the little Loza was alone on board with 400 migrants. Fortunately, one of them took care of her. Together, they managed to reach a country near Cannes where they had been sheltered by Hubert, a humanitarian operator and coordinator of the Habitat et Citoyenneté association. All that Loza wants is to re-embrace her family and someone has decided to help her, whatever it costs.
