ENDLESS ROAD

“Endless Road” is the story of the perseverance of a woman living in Zhejiang, Chinese Popular Republic, in the spring of 2013. Against the opinion of her daughter and without being afraid of the possible political reprisals of her act, Yan’s mother decides to denounce the environmental damages caused by the paper factory that is poisoning the waters of the river flowing in her village and launches a petition among her countrymen. “Armed” with a camera, the woman reports every day the damages caused by the paper factory built near her house. Murky water flows from the faucets, a frothy and grey river runs among the fields, and meanwhile people get sick. The strength of a small family, that press close to this woman, take position against the indifference of a whole community.
Huaqing Jin is born 1980 in Zhejiang, China. He has directed several short films and documentaries as “Heavy Mental”, “Living with Shame”, “Blossom with Tears”, “Lament of Yumen” and “Dew Couples”. He’s the director of the television network Zhejiang TV and in 2010 he held an audiovisual laboratory at Lanzhou and Zhejiang’s Universities. Besides receiving 28 prizes from international film festivals, he has also taken part to the 3rd International Documentary Festival in Milan and to the 8th Russian Anthropology Festival as jury member. In his works he analyzes the environmental issues by underlining the impact of the modernization in China, and its social and environmental contradictions.
