Pink Gang

India, Uttar Pradesh. A group of women unite to fight against the violation of human rights, the corruption of the police and gangsterism.  Led by the leader Sampat Pal, armed with a pink sari and a cane of the same colour, they march down the uneven and dusty streets of the Indian villages. This way is born the Gulabi Gang (Pink Gang), that builds schools for children, teaches professions to young girls and seeks to transmit to women the fact that submission in not a natural condition. The documentary narrates the mission of the group through the personal story of its founder Sampat Pal.

Enrico Bisi, born in 1975, graduated at the University of Turin in Letters and Philosophy, has collaborated with the Università del Cinema of Turin and, between 1998 and 200, with the Turin Film Festival. Since 2002 he is a freelance director and realized short films and documentaries. His most important works include: La Resa (The Revenue) 2003,  A Occhi Aperti (Eyes wide open), ElectrosambaSi diverta a guardareLa prima immagine (The first image), EnigmaPer necessità (Because I have to), Solo un giorno (Just one day) and Nulla da nascondere  (Nothing to hide).
