The film is based on the true story of four children from Mozambique, told by themselves, through their drawings made in a social center in Mozambique. Arnaldo, after the departing of his mother, was collected by his father, along with his younger brother, to Moamba, where they were explored as labour for the production of wood carbon. At 14, Arnaldo tried to escape to South Africa, but he was captured on the boarder and started an entire process of reintegration amidst a family who didn’t want him. Fernando, 12, tries to forget that he was delivered by his mother, incapable of fulfilling his needs, to a person from the family, as an employee. After an escape, he reunites to her and to his stepfather and little by little he discovers the reality of his new situation. Belucha, 8, and Lina, 6 , ran away from the place where they were explored and were mistreated by people with whom they had no family relations. They try to find their mother and sister. Carla, in charge of reintegrating these children, is the fifth character in this story. She confronts the limits of reality and her own ability to change the world and protect such fragile creatures.
