Shenmu Country is the most important coal producer of China. Here the exploitation of natural resources causes serious environmental problems. However, this process is growing due to the economic interests at the expenses of environment and inhabitants’ living condition. Luo Yanrong, a blaster, works in Shenmu mines. He lives in a sharing room with other colleagues, without toilet and bathroom. Despite unacceptable working condition and a work accident, Luo keep working at his job in order to support his family and to provide education for his children.
Guo Zongfu was born in Meshan in 1983 and lives in Beijing. He is a young and independent filmmaker, finalists and winner of several international film festival. Coul Miners has been selected at the Brazilian XIV International Enviromental Film Festival and Greece International Environmental Film Festival.
