Girls on the air

Humaira is a 25 years old reporter born and grown up in Afghanistan, a country at war. In 2003, after the fall of the Taliban regime, she decided to found Radio Sahar, a FM radio with the goal of bringing information to a country crushed by poverty and illiteracy . The journalists of Radio Sahar, with the wind blowing in the chador, venture into most risky areas: in the courts of justice, with microphones and headphones, in the mud villages burned by the sun, deep in the cracks of a country poised between modernity and tradition, of change aspirations and paradoxes. The vision of Humaira shows the contrasts of a country marked by violence against women and attacks by suicide bombers, but where you can still find in humour, poetry and dreams the inner arms for survival.
