"Au-delà de l'eau" takes us into the heart of the Sahel, in a village on the border between Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger. The scarcity of rainfall in the region makes agriculture difficult, creating problems for farming. Moreover the supply of drinking water is often not guaranteed and the consequences are dramatic. This situation leads many people to migrate to other countries but when the access to water becomes possible, the people of the region no longer live a precarious state of existence but become actors of development by building schools and hospitals. "Au-delà de l'eau" reflects the importance of water as key resource for development, factor of progress and social change.
