Sentenced to capital punishment without ever having fired the lethal blow, he slowly learned to build his freedom with painting, poetry and political activism. While the Arkansas rushes to run ten prisoners in ten days - an absolute American record - the film captures Kenneth's struggle, with unprecedented access to his daily battle.

Anne-Frédérique Widmann is an investigative journalist, director and producer. Since 2003 he has directed numerous documentaries with the Swiss broadcasting company RTS. In Los Angeles, in 2014-2015, he co-founded the Windows on Death Row project, a double cartoon show of the best US publishing cartoonists and works of art by death row inmates.
