Tomorrow’s land. How we decided to tear down the invisible wall
Andrea Paco Mariani, Nicola Zambelli | 2011 | Italy | 78’
Welcome to At-Tuwani, a small Palestinian village of farmers’ embedded in the arid hills of south-east Hebron, in the so-called Area C of the West Bank. Under the constant threat of evacuation since 1999, the village is subject of repeated attacks by the Israeli colonists that live in the vicinity of the settlements of Ma’on. In response to all this from ten years is born the Popular Resistance Committee, direct expression of revolt by local farmers, and at the same time, potent destabilizer of control mechanisms and implemented repressions of the Israeli occupations. Through a dual strategy, mediated and legal, a planned series of non-violent actions implemented in the territory and with the support and the collaboration of Israeli and international activists, the movement is growing and is affirming in key region how one of the possible pre-courses to construct is to imagine a new future.
