A new day has com describes one of the less notorious aspects of the Palestinian diaspora, the obligation to escape from Iraq after the fall of Saddam Hussein for more than twenty thousand refugees, through the story of two Palestinian families escaped from Baghdad and living during several years in a refugee camp in the Syrian desert. A land of no one at the border between Syria and Iraq, a huge tent without entrances and exits, between two military check points and controlled by the border police. The documentary follows the history of the families of Abu Khaled, leaving for Italy and Abu Safi, leaving for Sweden. The arrangements, the last friends’ hugs, the travel and each one with their own destination. Abu Khaled and Abu Safi will try to build a new life, thousands of kilometers far from home.
Emiliano Sacchetti, 40 years old, after studying Sociology of Communication and Social Sciences, deals for several years with public relations. Since 2000 he works as scriptwriter and actor for Rai, Mediaset and Sky and works as actor also for Radio2 and RadioMontecarlo. As a short film writer he produces movies broadcasted on Italian and international broadcasters as Churches & Mosques, a travel in the Muslim Community which deals with the religious and cultural right of Muslims in Italy and Triangolo Rosso, a movie on the political deportation to Mauthausen.
