Israel vs Israel
Terje Carlsson | 2010 | Sweden | 58’
A grandmother, a rabbi, an anarchist and an ex-soldier: four Israelis that look to bring an end to the occupation of the Palestinian territories. Israel vs Israel talks about the Hebrew peace activists that, through actions and words, take the position against 40 years of occupation and illegal settlements. Among these, Yehuda Shaul, leader of the organization Breaking the Silence, that collects the testimonies of abuse and violence against Palestinian civilians, Ronni Perlman coordinator of the organization Checkpoint Watch, Arik Ascherman, leader of Rabbi for Human Rights, that protects Palestinian farmers from attacks by soldiers and Israeli colonists, and Jonathan Pollack, member of Anarchist Against the Wall. The documentary depict the desperate fight of those who try to give their contributions to improve the life of the Palestinians and because of this are often demonised and considered dangerous by the Hebrew government.
