City of Borders goes inside the vibrant community of the only gay bar in Jerusalem, where people of different nationalities, religions and sexual orientations create a sanctuary among people typically viewed as each other’s “enemy”. The documentary describes the Israeli bar daily life, in the matter of politics, religion and discrimination. Five stories reveal the contradictions and the complexities in the struggle for acceptance. The film won several awards, including the Best Documentary Award at Barcelona International Gay and Lesbian Film Award and the New Orleans Middle East Film Festival.

Yun Suh, after having studied medicine biology and psychology at the University of California and Berkeley, worked in in radio and tv for eight years. She produces reports from Israel, the West Bank and Gaza. His Sabra and Shatila was nominated from the National Federation of Community Broadcasters as Best Radio Documentary. City of Borders is his first direction.

The International Festival Gender Bender is organised by Il Cassero, gay lesbian centre based in Bologna. Gender Bender shows the new body and gender identities representation in contemporary culture.  The festival offers a rich programme with various film screenings, dance and theatre performances, exhibitions and installation, visual arts, meeting and conferences, concerts and DJ set.
