Le acque di Chenini

The oasis of Chenini, close to Gabès (Tunisia) is the only sea oasis in the Mediterranean. The biodiversity of the oasis is at risk because of the cement factory raised in the last years, the development of phosphate industries, which cause pollution, illnesses and exploitation of the ground water of the oasis.

Kamel, one of the last young people remained, cultivates following organic methods. Together with the elderly persons, Kamel is part of an association that supports organic productions and defends the oasis.
